A defence mechanism....

I am tired and that has alot to do with the fact that i was overly hyper last night and couldn't sleep even after i hung up the phone with her. She was probably serious, in a way, that i worried her at a different level when i was so hyper at the closure of that short little chapter. I was surprised at it too....and i thought maybe the news haven't really sink in....i didn't have much difficulty sleeping other than the fact that i was hyper...did not feel a slightest tinge of sadness...

woke up this morning and still, i feel nothing. No feeling at all and it feels like just any other day. I felt empty..and i guess that's the only feeling i have till now. I feel it every now and then through out the day. Just a moment here and there. Nothing major. Guessed maybe i suddenly lost that particular topic/object or whatever u called that kept my attention for the last few months. it feels strange that our role has swapped. Nope..she definitely don't behave like i did when i was in the picture but i sense that she is looking forward to see what is going to happen to them...is not that i am not happy for her..just feels weird..guess i need some time to adjust to it..

i think my brain has reacted to the whole situation by blocking off all possible feelings about him and the speed that my brain used to do that amazes me. It's similar to what happened when i went through the breakup yet at the same time, different. I feel tired and every so ready to just sleep it off..why? that's the easiest way to stop any thoughts that can come through..at the same time..i feel hyper..yes..i still feel hyper after a whole day at work..or maybe i just feel restless..trying to keep my energy high, with lotsa activties physcially or mentally..to keep thoughts out...it's good. I don't want to think about it anymore. I am tired. But, i am tired at the way my brain is reacting to the whole situation..oh well...defence mechasim reacted too strongly..

bottomline..i am happy that we are all still friends..that's what matters..

My mind is still nt quite back to normal yet..still very messy if u ask me..thoughts are jumboed up still bt i think i am getting there.....till then....

Nope! that's the answer that i have for that question and that sealed the deal. Was in shock when i realised that what i was so confident would not happen between us had happened. Mind was blank from that moment and i was asked to choose a option out of two. It was a struggle between me as a friend and me as a selfish individual. It's not like choosing the latter will prevent anything from happening if it's meant to happen..maybe delay it, maybe not. No one knows exactly what is going to be happen. But still, i was threw with 2 options.

Tempted to choose option 2 if u ask me. BUT, i know that's not the way to go. No one can ask anyone to do that, especially when it's someone like her. But i know option 1 means i will have to make sure i control myself very well and gear myself for what might happen. Something that part of me really do not wan to see happening. Can i do it? I don't know but like that question that i was asked, there is no other options unless i can do without her as my friend. Everyone who knows me know that it's impossible to not have her as my friend. So, one way road it is.

Pondered over if i should run away instead. An escape from all these. But i realised, what came across my mind was exactly what went through it when i struggled 2 years ago. What if i actually have a chance? What if things would have been different if i stay on? By running away, am i throwing it all away? I am just not ready to accept that this is going to end even though a large part of me is telling me that it is.

I still don't know what to do. Can i not tell her about my choice? Just pretend that conversation never happened and i don't owe her any decision? Should i try to find out the answer?

There is a lot of emotions that went through me in the short time span of a day..shocked, lost, frustration, you named it and i probably went through it. Mind is still in a mess...if u not already noticed that by the way this post is written...

Till I find a way............

September is coming to an end...it went past in a manner that i least expected...it's been a extremely busy month...and to top it off..been down with flu for one full week now, and..sadly..still counting...blame it on insufficient rest!!

September has been a very busy month for me..it was kind of expected for the first half of the month since i knew i had to finish up all the wedding stuff for Joyce, by hook or by crook, while working...hee..blame it on my inspiration which refused to come back to me during August..haha..Joyce said that i have the "艺术家脾气"..haha...no doubt..i can't and i don't like to force myself to come up with any of my "creations" when i don't have the mojo..even if i am running out of time..hahaha..evident from the wedding stuff for Joyce..i took about 2 mths to finish up her ang bao box..and to be exact...only to finish it on the eve of her wedding!haha..

BUT..September turned out to way busier than i have expected! haha..and seriously...the statement "Life is unpredictable" is so true! haha..we left for the weekend thinking that all will be fine for the Co and i was still joking away with my friends during Joyce's wedding over that weekend about it..and when we all got back to work on Monday..things fell apart!

To date, we are all still amazed by how quickly things have took a turn and ended! The weeks that followed ( 2 weeks to be exact and still counting), it's a mad rush for us at work everyday..yup..a lot of people around thought that we would have nothing to do at work..haha..that's true for most of the department in the co..but not for me and my team-mates! haha..we had have our busy times during month-end closing but it's different from what we have these 2 weeks..it is physically and mentally draining since the turnaround time given is often unreasonably short and to top it off, the people that requested for the informations were often not the usual group..the impact of a mistake was much greater..I was really going nutz! but i must say..i count my blessing to have my fave girlie emails to keep mi sane..and yesh..i know there will be 2 who would be shouting that 2 FAMOUS ALPHABET when reading this..ahahha..yaya..no denial about that-that helps alot too!haha

As much as I whined about the stress level, it is indeed an "eye-opener" for me to be in the whole "drama" and experience what everyone would say it's a once in a lifetime experience..there is a lot to learn from it and the bonding that it creates within the team is probably something that won't come by so easily if this didn't happen..haha..but well..i seriously think that no one would want to experience it more than once..ahahaa..the kind of uncertainty that u face everyday at work, the kind of things that happen every other day just drain u off..haha...

As October draws near..hope things will be clearer and everyone involves in this will be able to plan for their next step with some level of certainty!

3 months old.....

(This was a post that i have written a few days before my 3rd month anniversary in my new co...and sad to say..it has now become as "a few days before my co came tumbling down.." Life's really unpredictable!)

13th September will mark the 3rd month in my new job..there is still a lot to learn..work is keeping me occupied and busy most of the time in the day, and week ( especially the week before and after month-end..haha..ya...that leaves me with not much "Good" weeks in between)..less time to keep in touch with my dear friends..which i really don't like..was just telling one of my friends that it's sad that sometimes i get so busy in the day..i don't even realize that he has been "missing" too...bad...and it also means..less time to do things that i enjoy..like my scrapbook..my knitting and all...BUT...i must say...being busy at work beats having nothing to do at work,anytime!!haha..to sum up my current feeling of work -- "Happily Busy"..and no Monday Blues so far!

(This is a "spin-off" from the previous post on the yummy feast! haha..why? coz it think "Bunny Love" deserves a post of her own?haha)

So..what did we get for Destinee? haha..a pretty little pink polka dot dress from Gap ( okay..come to think of it..we didn't take a picture of it!!!) and a teeny weeny rabbit that i knitted for her ( made possible by the courtesy of Julie from Little Cotton Rabbits !) She is my latest knit! hee..took some pictures of her at the party before she head home with Destinee! hee..Really love this rabbit..it's a super fast knit..it prob only took me about 30 min to 45 min? hee..and it's so adorable! Should really check out Julie's blog! she is amazing! her knitted toys and cupcakes are so so so nice! i really feel like i am in some kind of fairy-land with her knitted toys and cupcakes! inspired!! i hope soon i will be able to do up some good cupcakes to blog about ( haha..truth is..i did one and it's totally NOT A CUPCAKE..to be improved on!)

Happy Birthday to Destinee!

We are, strictly speaking, into the 9th days of September! wow, wow, wow! and what's been the highlight for Sept at the moment?haha..no..wrong..not Joyce's wedding ( a close fren of mine from my Deloitte days who is into her final one-week count down of her wedding..)...It's the BIRTHDAY PATY FOR DESTINEE...who is Destinee? ( nope..wrong again..not the diamond..or well..maybe she is the "diamond" of her parents and maybe one day, of her other half...) She is actually my niece ( cuzzie's daughter)...She turned 1!! This is truly amazing..it seemed like a little while ago that we was making comments like "Oh! SOOOOOO SMALL!!!!!" at the hospital a year ago, and there she is now..stumbling around( i really don't think that's walking much ya..she falls like every 10 steps?hee..still not steady yet!) the house with her "softball" or her bolster ( these are pretty useful..everytime she "fall flat" on her face...all of us will be like "Phew! Lucky! ( haha..bad parents and aunties and uncles?! haha..the lucky refers to the "softball" and bolster that cushioned her head when she falls!but yup..you got why they were useful?haha)

Anyway..the point is...we had a party..IN HER NAME..haha..it was more like an "reason" for us to whip up a feast for ourselves..i mean..after all...lil' Destinee wouldn't remember much of this ( kids don't have memory of what happen before 2 or something like that right, or so i rem...haha)

Well..Aunt is a good cook! but ever since she injured her hand, we try not to let her cook much..so what now? hee...my cuzzie told my aunt.." you talk, i cook"..so that was the arrangement...it was a hilarious sight in the kitchen when my cuzzies were working at the command of my aunt..for one..my aunt was not used to standing there doing nothing..so alot of times, you would see her trying to snatch the chopper!..and to add to that, cuzzies aren't that good with the chopper and all..so it's really "鸡手鸭脚"( chicken hand, duck feet..direct translation for those who can't read Chinese..but you get the picture i guess?)=P

After all the hard work by aunt and cuzzies..we had a great feast..what's on the menu...Lobster in Cheese sauce ( the highlight of the day..that's by far the most popular dish from aunt..all my cuzzies-in-law salivate over it everytime she make it! okay..me too actually..it's really yummy! i swear!)...Chicken skin with sotong(Squid) paste ( a restaurant that we used to go served this dish the best so far, but the restaurant had DISAPPEARED! but no worries..we found ourselves a good replacement during the party!haha)..Mum's grilled chicken ( i swear that it's better that Kenny Rogers! not oily..and tender meat!)..sushi and sashimi ( courtesy of cuzzie from ichiban boshi!)..ribs from BBQ Express Shop ( much better than the one from the caterer the last round)..fruit salad and Salad Green( courtesy of another cuzzie..yes..2 salads! veg and fruits are good for health!)..and the "Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside" buns from Chong Pang for the Cheese Sauce! haha..well..what a spread huh?whahahaha..we all had a good time feasting and watching Destinee staring at her dad putting in all the yummilicious food without sharing!hahaa...and of gossiping about Destinee's lil' boyfriends at childcare center...(oh boy...kids start young nowadays huh?haha..)

Finale comes with the BIRTHDAY CAKE! is actually my fave Strawberry cake from Four Leaves! hahaa..yum yum! Destinee was so cute..she just stared at the cake..an out in the space look! haha..her first BIRTHDAY! we took so many pictures of her looking at her cake, blowing the candle and cutting cake! I am sure we have captured enough memory for her when she grow a little older!

Welcome, Stacky!

It's been a long time since my last knitted toy! hahaha..Greeny M&M if you remember! haha..well..that was in Feb! after 6 long months, i believe he needs a friend that comes from the same planet as him!!! okay..yesh..i know he has Fumu and friends around but nothing beats somebody from the same planet isn't it?haha...

So..who is it that joined Greeny?whahahaha..is Ye-row, the STACKY!! I have actually gotten this pattern from Mochimochi land long ago when it first came out! haha..been wanting to knit it but the fact that it takes 5 needle kinda freaks me a little..so have been putting off knitting stacky...But the time has come for Stacky to make his grand appearance to be the best companion for Greeny and Yuyu...Stacky is a cutesy meowmeow minus the non-stop noise making function that the life-sized MeowMeow has..it's the best you can get when you want to have a quiet pet around! haha..

He was actually a much easier knit than i have expected! he came to this planet within half a day..from the time i decided to call for him to shift to this planet till he arrived!haha..each Stacky has his own unique features and mission! Ye-row's mission is to be a HAPPY cat that brings joy to all around him! Just check out his ever cheery color!haha...

Anyway..took some picture for Stacky when he made his debut trip in the car! haha..he is such a handsome Cat! ahahaha..

More of Stacky's family is coming along...afterall, Stacky find this small little planet a nice place to live..with all the friendly people around..on the schedule..we have Pirato Stacky, Stac Stac ( can you link it with one of my good girly frAn?=)...and many more..

oh ya! we have yuki-tofu too! bt yuki is too shy to be seen at the moment..maybe next time....=P

My life, my story - Lovely August!

(hee..noticed by now that my updating seems to come in waves???hee..meaning i will MIA for a while and come back with a few updates in quick succession!haha..Bad...shall try to change that to a more regular one...haha)

so what else went on in the 2week+ that i went "missing"? haha..well..more wakeboarding of course!! have been wakeboarding everyweek since i got back from Hong Kong in July..so..almost 2 months! so what's changed in this 2 months? well, Captain HSB is driving the boat a little faster( but no, not that fast la..haha)...i can cross the wakes without much falling ( though my toe-side is still not steady)...kinda know how to do a surface 180(but i still can't ride on my left leg or switch back to right leg yet!)...learning how to do my "edging" properly, but my toe-side edge is still damn weirdly done..haha...our dear Captain HSB is going to "drill" me till i get it i am sure..whahahaha..and...we have 2 new friends who joined us for wakeboarding-Pris and Fran!hee...happy to see that they all had fun...that's about all that has happened on my wakeboarding!heehee..

and...remember SUNSET GRILL that i have mentioned in an earlier post? heee...i finally managed to go!! went on the last day of August! haha..do you know that we have been trying to go there for dinner for the longest time? haha..bad weather forbids us from going for close to a month or so! There is some seats indoor if i didn't remember wrongly but trust me, the alfresco dining that makes the whole place special and so..have to really wait for a fair weather day for the dinner to take place! so...we waited and waited! FINALLY!!!! anyway..it also happened to be one of the very rare occasion that i didn't bring my camera!! haha..HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?hahhaa..so yup..you are only going to see a picture of what fantastic view you see while having your dinner and one to show u the planes that you can see!haha...forcus on the background on the picture to the right!=P

Anyway...Sunset Grill is located deep inside the Seletar Camp..haha..i was just following blindly behind Cpt HSB's WRX! hahahah..good for me coz i can enjoy the "Out of Singapore" kinda feeling as we drove on...and even better was that we went by the reservoir way and the scenery on the way was just so so so NICE!! oh yes...the flat water in the reservoir..hee..anyway..once u get into the area of the restaurant..haha..it's all worth while..it's peaceful,rustic feeling you get! haha..for a moment..you will forget that you are in Singapore! really!! and the FOOD is YUMMILICIOUS!! hahaha..buffalo wings were good but my fave has to be the lasagna! couldn't stop smiling to myself coz it was so GOOD! haha..i am definitely going back again! hee..bt i need Cpt HSB i think! haha..or maybe his GPS! hahaha..there is one thing that we didn't try but apparently it's good--BROWNIES! haha..it's on my "To-try" list for the next visit!wahahaha..

wow...can't imagine how time flies..(okay..i seem to repeat this every now and then..haha) it's been 2 week+ since my last update....

so..what went on in 2 weeks?! ahahaa..well..the highlight has to be the "Initiation" session for fran fran's wakeboarding! haha..that was so fun!! we never had such elaborate session before! that was the first time!

August was not exactly the rainy season but Singapore's weather has been pretty weird and it was rainy the days before our session! Woke up with bright sunny weather.but it soon became gloomy..was praying for the weather to hold but it started raining when we were supposed to set off for the picnic! so well..a little delay there..BUT!!! the rain kinda cleared enough for us to head for our secret destination--the KELONG! heee....it's the one that we always pass by when we wakeboard! Thanks to Jem who knows the boss of the place!!Had our roast chicken and egg mayo sandwich and CARROT cake there! yummy food! oh wait! how could i forget to mention the "flower gals"?! made a flower clip as promised for the 2 babes! so it was yummy food, and PRETTY flower babes at the Kelong for picnic lunch! Jem and Jon had to be the luckiest on that day to have us with them!haha

After a nice relaxing lunch, we started with our agenda proper-- Wakeboarding! and most importantly, to get Fran Fran up and going on the board!! Well, though we whined alittle about the rain but because of it, we were blessed with very flat water which was good,especially for beginner like Fran Fran! She took over after my set, and Jem went through all the basics with Fran Fran before we "threw" her into the water!haha..after a few tries...TA-DA!!!!Fran fran was up and riding on the board!haha..Mission Accomplished! She was really cute..all you can hear from her throughout was "Very fun, very fun....." even when she fell..hee..it was a joy to watch her and was so happy that we all made it a enjoyable and fun session together!! Because of it being a "special" session, we got to see Jon and Jem doing their stunts! they made it look so easy..ahahaha..and guess what? Jon did a 360 degree jump right before our eyes!!! so cool!!

We planned for dinner at Sunset Grill ( okay, i finally managed to have my dinner there last week, look out for later updates on that!=P) BUT the silly rain came back and we had to change our plan. Went to Admiral Grill at Admiral Hill( it rhymes huh?haha)...okay..Admiral Hill is actually just opp Sembawang MRT station..hee..quite hidden..and they are currently revamping the place! think they might be trying to turn it into a Dempsey look-alike? We shall see about that..Anyway...dinner!! we had yummy grills and some wine ( food was nice bt nt the wine but well, it's okay! the companion was GREAT!)

Dinner ended with a goody hug for all the babes...missing Fran fran! we were SUPPOSED to meet again after she get back from Aussie!! BUT! she is back in HK already and that was the last i saw of her at Admiral Grill for her SG trip!! bohooo....BUT! till we meet again in Dec,Fran!=P

Happy that it went on well and hope that we got ourselves a wakeboarding buddy in the making when she moves back for good!haha

oh! i mention this!...I LOST MY EAR STUD WHILE WAKEBOARDING! >.< oh well..you gain some you lose some huh?haha

Exciting!!! The long-awaited PIcnic+wakeboard session!

Okay..tot i should just update the process of preparing for this "BIG EVENT"!! hahaha

well well well, it's tomorrow!! Have been talking with yuyu and fran fran about meeting up when fran gets back and we will hang out for a day just to have some girly fun! haha..well..it's turning out alot "healthier" than we initially planned for! haha..what do i mean?whahaha..we were all talking about going to "Cheong-K" ( meaning to sing Karaoke( in Cantonese) ) in SG when Fran comes back..but oh well..check out the title of this post and yes, you know we have changed it to something so "healthy"! hahaha

Anyway, it has been fixed for quite awhile that it will be a mini picnic before wakeboard..Captain Hoe Say Bo has promised a "secret" place that somehow yuyu got to know through a slip of the tongue of Cpt Hoe..hahaa..okay..let's see what we have got for now, at almost mid-night to the picnic...we have got roast chicken and egg mayo for the sandwich, and not to forget, we have CARROT CAKE! oh yes! the carrot cake in the previous post has passed its "UAT" ( user acceptance test) and has now gone into "production"...

Roast Chicken is already in the fridge at this very moment that i am typing..egg mayo is with yuyu and the carrot cake..Mr carrot cake has decided that he is too "BIG" as a squarish cake and decided to get stuck to the baking pan! so what then? haha..Mr Carrot Cake will now go through "slimming" process and bcm a "oh-so-slim" rectangle cake!hahaha..but i have tasted the cake! hahaa..pass! oh well..first time "production" always have some minor issues isn't it?haha

okay..what's left for tomorrow? Bread, tomato, lettuce, and maybe muffin ( home-baked of coz) of i can convince mum! haha..then it's about putting everything into that nice little basket! haha..shall take a picture of it tml! haha..

okay...now..cream cheese making time for the Carrot Cake..end of report!=P

hee...not sure how many people actually check my blog on a regular basis now..ahaha..maybe not too many since i have left my blog alone for a long long time..from March till Aug! wow..5 mths..haha..bad of me...

Anyway..maybe for those who noticed updates for the beginning of the week and then, these few days, i seemed to have disappear again..ahhaa..thinking that must be a cycle rite?whahaha..actually..no..have been on the blogger web for quite abit of time the last 2 nights...but not on this blog..kee..so where am i?oh well..actually...i am preparing for another blog to come out..

haha..okay..yesh..why am i having yet another blog when i cant even cope with one?wahhahaha..well..the one that is upcoming is more for "business"...oh yes..ur eyes are not playing tricks on you.."business" and i really mean business..something that hopefully earn me something?

Have been wanting to see if my creations have a market out there..some of my friends have encouraged me saying that they probably have a market out there..and to test it out at the lowest cost possible--The INTERNET! ahaha..and what's easier than starting up a blog. Many people have been doing online blogger business for a long long time..ahaha..slow of me as usual..but better late than never right?haha..okay..so yup..been a little busy..but yesh..i am so not gg to neglect this blog again! hahaha..

okay..back to my upcoming blog preparation! LATE NIGHT.....BAKING!

Late night shopping..a term that popped up in Singapore in recent years..and yeah..how late is the late night shopping?Haha..erm..10.30pm at max?! haha..okay..should not be complaining if you look at the closing time for shops in country like Aussie..BUT, hey, look at Hong Kong!! haha..10.30 pm is like kinda the normal hours for them?haha..okay okay..i am biased..=P

Anyway, main point of my post is not about late night shopping..haha..i promised myself not to do MAJOR (note the use of word-MAJOR only! haha..minor ones still allowed=P) shopping till end of year..to recover from the Madness Shopping in HK! okay okay..digressing again...hehe..TOPIC of today--LATE NIGHT BAKING!! haha..was talking to Fran Fran and she commented that mum and I seemed to be baking at late hours..haha..oh well..that's what happen when you are not blessed enough to be a "Tai-tai" who can bake cakes at whatever time in the day that pleases her..We, the "commoners" can only do it after work, after dinner and after the dishes...so yeah, when the urge to bake hits us, it usually starts at close to 10pm! Insane i guess? You are not supposed to be eating at anytime after 6pm...let alone CAKES?! haha..oh well..yes, you can leave the cake to the next day BUT don't you need to taste the end product?? Especially when it's fresh from the oven?haha..

So, "What's baking tonight?" haha..CARROT CAKE!!!! oh yeah...fell in love with carrot cake when i was given a small little slice of it during the old SCB days...It was from this small little shop in Waterloo Street..the carrot cake tastes so GOOD!! haha..yum yum. But the problem is, it opens at not too normal hours and it's actually quite out of the way. So yup, I have not eaten a slice from them since Mothers' Day!! Anyway, Yuyu loves carrot cake and we were talking about it on Sunday. Happened to be flipping through the recipe book and saw the Carrot Cake!!haha..what do you do when you are gaining the momentum to bake ( not hard to tell right? Baked a cake on Sunday afternoon and then again, muffin at night?) and you kind of have a craving for carrot cake?? YOU BAKE IT!!!

How does it taste? haha..well..carrot cake and cream cheese topping is kinda like the perfect match..and they need to be a little chilled to be nice..so yup..first time I did not taste the end product right after baking it!! Verdict shall be passed tml morning since it's going to be my BREAKFAST! haha..for now..some photos will do the trick! Enjoy!!

Baking Time! Story of the "Mutated" Strawberry-Choc Muffin!

Have been baking on and off since school days. And guess who has always been my BEST baking partner?haha..yes, some of you might know--is MUMMY!!!

Baking time is also our bonding time, and truth to be told, I treasure all these moments with Mum a lot more than I used to. The sense of satisfaction of baking a yummilicious cake; biting into muffins fresh from the oven; and just taking a sniff of the aroma of the cookies in the oven, is one BIG enjoyment! I am blessed to have Mummy to share with me!

My best partner can be a blur "sotong" at times....Having only the 2 of us to finish whatever that we bake, we tend to cut the recipe by half, resulting in loads of calculations...trust me, mummy sometimes takes out the calculator for it! haha..BUT, no matter how scientific she can get, "accidents" still happen..

Having some leftover Strawberries from the afternoon baking session with the gals, we decided to bake some strawberry-choc muffins to use up the strawberries and the last bit of our choc chips in the fridge! Mummy tends to be the one that does the preparation of the ingredients and I am usually the one who do the mixing, beating, folding and what not..the manual work...

What can go wrong in calculating the amount of flour required? Well, mummy did the sums correctly, 3/4 cup of flour, and since we cutting the recipe by half, its 3/8 cup! Perfect calculation! BUT, that happens only if she has stick to using the measuring cup! haha..Since the cup was used to measure the milk, she decided to use the weighing machine for it! And for some reasons, she read the conversion of measurement from cups to weight TOTALLY wrong. 1 cup = 125g, but somehow, she read it as 1/2 cup = 125g...so what do you think happened?haha..we ended up with way more flour than we needed!

Trusted mummy's calculation, i poured in all my ingredient! But it didn't take too long for me to sensed that something went wrong since the mixture was so much drier than the lumpy texture that it was suppose to have! haha..what's next? Mummy "claimed" that she measured correctly at the first instance that i suspected the flour to be the "culprit"! 3/8 cups she exclaimed! and after a moment of silence, she suddenly realised the conversion was way off! TOO LATE!haha..

To salvage the situation...added more milk so as to ensure all dry ingredients were moistened, and off this batch went into the oven...haha..result? ROCK-CAKERY muffin! haha..

Ta-da! our own "secret" recipe of Strawberry-Choc Muffin, Rock-cake style was born!=P

Oh well..somehow..my blog was mentioned twice in just one day! haha..and i realised that my beloved SISTER still comes here to check out occasionally! haha..you know who u r! and let me tell you, I REALLY LOVE YOU SO MUCH AS MY BEST FRIEND!!haha..and yes, I have neglected my little blog for the LONGEST time!! How could I?haha

Anyway, quite a lot has happened for the past few months..haha..where should i start? haha..okay..let's see...

1) I changed my job! Landed myself in a Finance Control role in Lehman Brothers Singapore...haha..was actually debating between working in HK and SG. Bt this chance came along when i least suspected it and somehow, everything seems to just gel..so yup! Working in SG..for NOW! i am still thinking of HK!!haha..very much!!haha..

2) I fell in love with WAKEBOARDING! hahaha..Ah-yuyu started me on this slightly more than a year back...during one of my toughest time in my life..didn't carry on with it after one session. Finally, started on it again this year after i got back from HK in March!haha..and Viola! HOOKED totally! Have been doing it pretty regularly since then..(and yes, just went for my 6th session today!) If you have not try, you should! If you have tried, and stop because you keep falling, KEEP TRYING!! If I can do it, you can too since i am one person who sucks at anything that needs balancing!hahaha..If you are hooked like me, CONTINUE!!hahh

3) I turned 26!! arghz..one more year less to "tick" the same "age-box" in any kind of forms...get what i mean?haha..to mark my 1st birthday being SINGLE ( oh yes, single and available..any good guys to recommend? haha..kidding)..went for a 9-days fun-filled trip with Ah-yuyu..to where??where is a better place than the place that i was born in 26 years ago?haha..yes, Hong Kong!! Some people asked what can we do with 9 days there? Isn't that just a place for eating and shopping? haha..WRONG! there is alot more to this VIBRANT city! Especially when I have my bunch of LOVELY friends with me! Thank you to all who has made my birthday trip such a GOOD one!! Love you all loads!

4) I had my 1ST JC gathering after 8 years..haha..It feels good to meet old friends again after all these years. It's strange how things turned out. I have never thought that i would meet them all over again, but hey, life is full of surprises ( yes, good ones and sadly, bad ones at times...)! A BIG thank you to that person who has made this possible! haha..some will know who this person is, and for those who don't, oh well...himitsu-desu!=P

Just a quick update of all that have happened in the past few months for me...shall try to update on each of them in detail over the month of AUGUST...while updating about life in this month at the same time! Stay tuned!haha

Cousin's Ang Bao Box!!

Like i said in the earlier post..one of the things that made my March filled with goodness is that my cousin and her hubby liked the Ang Bao box that I did for them.
This is not the first one that i have done. Did one for Peishan in Dec last year. I am just happy that feedback has been positive so far, for both occasions!
Well..when I know that my cousin was getting married, I wanted to offer my help with the Ang Bao box actually. But, i was worried that she might have something better in mind so i did not mention anything.

I was actually excited when my aunt told me that my cousin was thinking of asking me! haha..another chance for me to "feel good" about my creation!

Bought all my materials in early Feb! But trust me, i didn't get down to doing anything until end of Feb! haha. But, once started, i managed to complete it within 2 weekends ( of course i didn't stayed at home the whole day to do it on the weekends...)

The color theme is purple this round to match cousin's wedding's decoration. She mentioned that she want it simple. To be frank, I was a little stressed as I know my cousin can be rather fussy.

Went to Laines' to choose paper that matches the purple paint that i have tested on the box! Bought paper that are visually "lighter" so as to keep it simple. Love the idea and effect of using pearls so I got even more pearls this time, just that i chose the smallest size of pearls ( yes, all in hope of it not to appear to "loud"). Bought some embellishment in gold since cousin mentioned that the main color for the wedding is purple with a tinge of champagne gold!

Used various shades and sizes of purple flower on the box. Added ribbons and bling bling gems in purple to add some shine to it. Made used of the paper dollies that mummy brought for her pineapple tart making to decorate the back! effect turned out nice!

Jeremy (Ness' boyfren) jokingly commented that Peishan's box did not have a lock! As such, LOOK! there is a look this time! Didn't put it right in the middle as it spoil the design. Attached the lock to the side. Honestly, it might not help much in the event someone really want to steal it ( i mean..you know, it's just a box after all, anyone can just grab and run and just tear the box apart =P) But overall, i like that idea and i guess, it will be one of the key features in the boxes to come.

March- a month full of goodness!

In Jan, I wished for a Happier 2008. We are now at almost the end of the 1st quarter of 2008! The last 3 months have been really busy for me. Things seem to be happening non-stop and there is always not enough time! There is so many things that i want to do, but there is only so much that i managed to finish!

Looking back at the 1st quarter, though busy, but I AM HAPPY! I am on track in terms of my only wish in 2008! HAHA!

March is an eventful month! Lots of things happened! There are good and bad but that's what life is all about isn't it?

Let's talk about the not so good first...the working environment has turned for the worst even with the departure of one of the classic "office politician" who proved himself to be very scheming. The only one left in the office proved himself to be someone "naive" and let himself be manipulated. I have never felt so bad at work before..the feeling of being wrongfully accused and the fact that it has become personal attack instead of work related! Anyhow, it definitely made working life suck more than usual. Tears came and went..and now, i am just going to tackle the issue as it comes. My strategy is to STAY STRONG AND NOT BE BEATEN by that man.

Okay. Enough of the not so good...now the GOOD ones...March has been good because:

I contributed to the success of the ROUND ISLAND CHASE organized for the department at work!
I finished the Ang Bao box for my cousin ( Note: Ang Bao box is actually a box to let the guests of the wedding put their blessing (yes, in monetary form) for the couple)
I witnessed the entire wedding day (including the morning bits where the bridesmaids putup "challenges" for the groom and the groomsmen!)
I made a trip back to Hong Kong and spent a weekend with the lovely babes( something that i wanted to do since last Nov)
I attended cousin's dinner in HK with mum and dad. ( My granny's biggest wish! I am so happy when i saw that Granny was so so so happy!)
I permed my hair!!

There is so many things i want to say about March. And yes, i aim to update all of you gals on my life in MARCH by the end of the month! not much time left! but i promised i will! Check back often!=P

Meanwhile, wish all of you a good WEEKEND! ( oh ya, March is going to end well because i am going for a fashion show tml ( i think)!!!) Yippie!!!!

Time flies....

(This was written back in Feb, but somehow i didn't post it up. Decided to clear some backlog and seriously, i am still getting the "time flies" feeling...ever more so now that we are almost reaching APRIL!!!)

This is so strange. I usually get the "Time flies..." feeling towards the end of the year! But, i have been getting this feeling ever since the start of 2008. Somehow...2008 seems to be moving very fast! Before I know it, we are in Feb, and to be exactly, mid-Feb ( not to forget that Feb is such a short month...nope...leap year doesn't help...=P)

Jan & Feb has been quite a busy period for me, and i guess, it's the same for a lot of us, as Chinese. Feb 7th was Chinese New Year (CNY) , and we have 2 days of public holidays for that! This year, we were all lucky since Feb 7th was a Thursday, so yes, we had a "long" CNY holiday. The weekends leading up to CNY was spent on making all the new year goodies -- Pineapple tarts, Mini Spring-roll with pork floss, Carrot Cake (Nope, not the western carrot cake kind of cake, is made with raddish, chinese sausage, dried shrimps and flour) and "Nian Gao".

relatives in Singapore! and seriously, anyone who stays in Singapore or came to this small islandChinese New Year has always been a very "boring" time for me as we do not have much during CNY will know that SHOPS are all closed during that few days!!!

BUT, this year, there was a slight twist to the "routine" we had...YU SHENG gathering for all friends from my first job!!! Yu sheng is a kind of Chinese raw fish salad that people in Singapore eat during CNY!

The way Yu Sheng is eaten is by tossing the ingredients ( which includes strips of raw fish, shredded green and white raddish, carrot, pickled ginger, crushed nuts and pomelo, deep-fried flour crisps, crushed peanuts, sesame seeds, cinnamon, pepper & other spices and plum sauce!). This is what we call "Loi Hei"!

Every year, the group of us will get together card games ( okay, money is invloved!). Daddy was very nice and prepared a tray of Fresh Fruit Salad with prawns for us!! It for Yu Sheng and a tiny bit ofwas the yummiest salad!!!And no gathering is complete without a GROUP PHOTO!!!

Happy Valntines' Day!

Valentines' Day. I was in a relationship for the past 6 years and so, for the past years, it was always about preparing present for him and if lucky, thinking about where to have a nice dinner. This is the 1st Valentines' Day after so long that i am spending it as single. I'm absolutely not complaining about it. In fact, I enjoy it quite abit (but of course, i'm secretly wishing that this is the only year that I'm not "celebrating" this day as a single. =P) Haha. I have a friend who told me that he hate this day. To that, i replied: " It's just another day actually. But I just take it as day to show extra love to my friends and family." I am happy to use this day to show some extra love to those i care and value for now, and of course, i will always remember to show them the same in the years to come.

Besides being single again for this Valentines' day, there is something else that is special this year! It happened to be my Japaneses course test date. The test started with a review lesson at 6.30pm and it ended slightly past 9pm! I'm so glad I finished this level and I'm keeping my finger crossed that I can move on to the next! Oh well...

Anyway, a Valentines' Day is not too complete without any flowers or heart right? At least that's how i feel! And thanks to Anna again, i learnt how to knit little hearts! It's such a fun and quick knit that i enjoy when travelling around. I hang all the hearts that i have knitted onto a "tree" and decorated it with some of my Scrapbooking supplies! And Viola! A "Valentines' Tree" My mojo struck me one of the day when I was shopping at Spotlight and I decided to make the "Hearty Flower"! Did a bit of experiment and I'm proud to say that i have completed the 1st stalk that I am really happy with. It has a smiling face on one side, and the word "Adore" embroidered on the other, with a leaf to the side!

Loving this cute little "flower"! Hope everyone likes it like i do! and With that, wish everyone a Happy Valentines' Day!

M & M -- the Green "Reindeer"

Besides Scrapping, I have picked up something else recently, something that i have tried my hands on years back but put it down after awhile-- Knitting!!

M&M, is the first knitted toy i did from patterns i got from Anna at MochiMochiland. It is a "reindeer"! Friends who have seen it say he don't look like a reindeer at all. Oh well, i think the "reindeer" thing about it is the antlers? This is made for Wanyu for her birthday and that kind of explains why it is a green "reindeer"? haha.. Spent a few nights on this, but in the end, the finishing was done right in front of his new master. And hence, M&M was able to have eyes that is made to her request. The eyes are such that it matches his "friend", Fumo! Who is "Fumo"? Fumo is another of her soft toy that has quite a "duh" look, in a cute way of course. Oh, by the way, I must say Fumo dances in a very unique way!

Though this is a post dedicated to M&M, I must make it a point to talk about Carrot!! He is a Carrot that i have knitted to go with Wanyu's yoppie! is it call yoppie?! oh well, anyhow, yoppie is a green tortoise ( yes, green again! haha) given by her good friend at work! For some strange reason, i just feel tortoise and Carrot goes together! weird logic i know. Okay, back to Carrot! It is from another pattern at Anna's blog! My first attempt and i really must said, it is not the best carrot! but Wanyu actually say it adds character to "Carrot". Maybe she said it to make me feel good?! haha..

I must really say Anna's creation rocks and I am really happy that i have stumbled upon it! If not,M&M wouldn't have been here!

More of my Knitting craze to come for sure! and yes, more of my friends to receive a knitted toy!
